Freire Lobo
Freire Lobo Sardanita Pet Nat Sparkling
Pickup currently not available
Freire Lobo Sardanita is a Portuguese pet nat, a naturally sparkling wine from the Dão, made from organic Encruzado, Bical, Fernão Pires, Barcelo, Cerceal and Malvasia Fina. It is bright, juicy and a little wild, the bottle to open when friends arrive.
Tasting notes
Pet nat, short for pétillant naturel, finishes its first fermentation in the bottle, so the bubbles are soft and the wine can be slightly cloudy. Sardanita is fresh and fruity, with a wild side that comes from native yeasts and no added sulphites.
Food pairing
It flexes with food: try roast white meats, pizza, fried snacks like pastéis de bacalhau, root vegetables, spicy dishes or a pungent cheese.
About Freire Lobo
Freire Lobo farms organically in Oliveira do Hospital, at 580 to 600 metres on sandy soils over granite. For Sardanita, Bical and Fernão Pires are picked first and the other grapes a week or so later, then the two are blended to ferment in bottle.
