Flor da Selva
Flor da Selva Traditional Coffee
Pickup currently not available
Flor da Selva Traditional Coffee is a Portuguese coffee from Lisbon, the house blend of one of the city's oldest roasters. It is the everyday coffee of Lisbon, for the morning bica, the cup after lunch and the one you share with friends.
Tasting notes
This is the house coffee of a traditional Lisbon roaster, made for the Portuguese way of drinking coffee: a short, strong bica at the counter. Expect a dark, generous cup with notes of cocoa, toasted bread and caramel, a pleasant bitterness and a thick crema. The firewood roast adds a soft, smoky warmth.
Food pairing
Have it the Lisbon way, with a pastel de nata, a bola de Berlim or a torrada with butter. With milk it makes a lovely galão.
About Flor da Selva
Flor da Selva is a small family coffee roaster in the Madragoa quarter of Lisbon, founded in 1950 by Manuel Monteiro. It is one of the last roasters in the city that still roasts over firewood, the way it did from the start. The Monteiro family still runs it, and the bags keep the look of Portuguese coffee packaging from the 1950s. No additives, just coffee.
