C. da Silva
Dalva 30 Year Old Tawny Port
Pickup currently not available
Dalva 30 Year Old Tawny Port is a fortified wine from the Douro, made by C. da Silva, a Port house founded in 1862, from old Ports aged for many years in oak casks. Dalva is a name serious Port drinkers know for old tawnies and Colheitas, and this 30 year old is a lovely way into that world.
Tasting notes
The age on the label is the average character of the blend, approved by the Port and Douro Wine Institute (IVDP). Three decades in wood give a tawny its amber colour and its notes of dried fruit, walnuts, caramel, spice and orange peel, with a silky texture and a long, warming finish.
Food pairing
Serve it with a ripe Serra da Estrela or an aged São Jorge cheese, roasted almonds, pastel de nata, pão de ló or dark chocolate with sea salt.
