Convento dos Cardaes
Convento dos Cardaes Tropical Lime Jam 100 ml
Pickup currently not available
Convento dos Cardaes Tropical Lime Jam 100 ml is a Portuguese jam from Lisbon, made at the 17th-century Convento dos Cardaes. A cheerful jar for adventurous breakfasts and for anyone who loves citrus.
Flavour and texture
This is a lime jam with a tropical twist: tangy, zesty lime peel and juice wrapped in a sunny, exotic sweetness. It is fresh, bright and a little unexpected.
Food pairing
Try it with yogurt, on a cheesecake or a coconut cake, with fresh cheese, or on warm toast. A white port and tonic with a slice of lime is the obvious drink.
About Convento dos Cardaes
The Convento dos Cardaes stands on Rua do Século, between Bairro Alto and Príncipe Real. It was founded in 1681 for Carmelite nuns and came through the 1755 earthquake with its gilded chapel and Dutch tile panels intact. Its small shop sells jams and biscuits made at the convent, and the house still welcomes young adults with special needs.
