Convento dos Cardaes
Convento dos Cardaes Peach Jam 250 ml
Convento dos Cardaes Peach Jam 250 ml is a Portuguese jam from Lisbon, made at the 17th-century Convento dos Cardaes. Open it when you want a little summer on the breakfast table, whatever the season.
Flavour and texture
Peach jam tastes of high summer: soft, juicy, floral and sweet, with a light tang that keeps it fresh. It is the kind of jam you end up eating straight from the spoon.
Food pairing
Lovely on toast or pancakes, swirled into yogurt, with queijo fresco, or as a glaze for roast chicken. Pair it with a Moscatel de Setúbal or a chilled white port.
About Convento dos Cardaes
The Convento dos Cardaes stands on Rua do Século, between Bairro Alto and Príncipe Real. It was founded in 1681 for Carmelite nuns and came through the 1755 earthquake with its gilded chapel and Dutch tile panels intact. Its small shop sells jams and biscuits made at the convent, and the house still welcomes young adults with special needs.
