Convento dos Cardaes
Convento dos Cardaes Apple Mustard 100 ml
Convento dos Cardaes Apple Mustard 100 ml is a Portuguese apple mustard sold by the Convento dos Cardaes, a 17th-century convent in Príncipe Real, Lisbon. It is the little jar that turns a cheese board or a plate of cold meats into something special.
Flavour and texture
Apple mustard combines the fruity sweetness of apple with the gentle heat of mustard. The texture is smooth and spoonable, and the taste moves from sweet to warm and tangy.
Food pairing
Serve it with cured cheeses, roast pork, ham, sausages or a farinheira. It also makes a good base for a salad dressing. A fruity red from the Douro or a tawny Port is a fine match.
