Confibor Elvas Dried Figs 320 g
Pickup currently not available
Confibor Elvas Dried Figs 320 g is a Portuguese dried fruit from Elvas, in the Alentejo, a town with a long tradition of sweet, preserved fruit. Figs for the end of a long lunch, for the cheese board, or for anyone with a sweet tooth.
Flavour and texture
Dried figs are dense, chewy and honeyed, with the little crunch of their seeds and a deep, caramel-like sweetness.
Food pairing
Serve them with a strong sheep's cheese, walnuts or almonds, or with dark chocolate. Open a tawny port or a Moscatel de Setúbal alongside.
About Confibor and Elvas
Elvas is a frontier town in the Alentejo, close to the Spanish border, whose fortifications are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is famous across Portugal for its candied fruit, above all the greengage plums known as ameixas d'Elvas, which carry a protected designation of origin. We could not find much published about Confibor itself, so ask us at the shop if you want to know more.
