Confibor Elvas Candied Fruit, Fig and Plum

Confibor Elvas Candied Fruit, Fig and Plum is a Portuguese candied fruit from Elvas, in the Alentejo, the town famous for its sugared fruit. A small sweet treat to try the Elvas tradition, or to add to a gift.

Flavour and texture

Candied fruit is cooked slowly in sugar syrup until tender and glossy. Fig brings a dense, honeyed sweetness and plum a gentle tang.

Food pairing

Enjoy it with an espresso, after dinner with a glass of tawny port, or with a slice of cured sheep's cheese.

About Confibor and Elvas

Elvas is a frontier town in the Alentejo, close to the Spanish border, whose fortifications are a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is famous across Portugal for its candied fruit, above all the greengage plums known as ameixas d'Elvas, which carry a protected designation of origin.
