Confibor
Confibor Elvas Candied Figs 250 g
Pickup currently not available
Confibor Elvas Candied Figs 250 g is a Portuguese preserved fruit from Elvas, in the Alentejo, made in the town's old tradition of candied fruit. A sweet to share at the end of a meal or on a festive cheese board.
Flavour and texture
Candied figs are soft and dense, with a deep, honeyed, jammy sweetness and the little crunch of fig seeds. Rich, so a small piece goes a long way.
Food pairing
Slice them onto a cheese board with a mature Serra da Estrela, a Queijo de Azeitão or a blue cheese, with walnuts. Pour a tawny Port, a Madeira or a Moscatel de Setúbal.
About Confibor
Confibor makes preserved fruit in the tradition of Elvas, a fortified town in the Alentejo near the Spanish border. Elvas plums are greengages of the Rainha Cláudia Verde variety, slowly preserved in syrup, and the name is protected as Ameixa d'Elvas DOP. Elvas preserved fruit has been a treasured Portuguese sweet for centuries.
