Companhia Portugueza do Chá
Companhia Portugueza do Chá Honey Tchai
Companhia Portugueza do Chá Honey Tchai is a Portuguese chai-style tea blend from Lisbon, created by Companhia Portugueza do Chá, the city's tea house on Rua do Poço dos Negros. A warm, comforting cup for cold evenings and slow weekend afternoons.
Tasting notes
As its name says, this is a tchai, the spiced tea tradition of India, here with a honeyed character. Chai blends are typically built on black tea with warm spices such as cinnamon, ginger and cardamom. It is lovely with milk, frothed or simply warm.
Food pairing
Serve it with carrot cake, a slice of bolo de mel, cinnamon biscuits or arroz doce.
About Companhia Portugueza do Chá
Companhia Portugueza do Chá is a Lisbon tea house on Rua do Poço dos Negros, founded by tea sommelier Sebastian Filgueiros. Its blends tell the story of Portugal and tea: Portuguese ships brought tea from the East, and Catherine of Braganza made it fashionable at the English court after marrying Charles II in 1662. Her profile is on the company's logo.
