Casanova Citrus Dry Gin 50 cl

Casanova Citrus Dry Gin 50 cl is a Portuguese gin from Alcobaça, distilled by Lemos Figueiredo with the peel of five citrus fruits. It is a fresh, bright gin for a Portuguese gin and tonic, with a story worth telling: it gives a second life to fruit that shops would not sell.

Tasting notes

Wild juniper and coriander seed are macerated in grain alcohol in the London Dry style, then the peels of lime, yuzu, grapefruit, lemon and tangerine are infused with steam in a copper still. Expect a clean juniper base and a lively, zesty citrus nose.

Food pairing

Make a gin and tonic with a twist of lemon or grapefruit, and serve it with fried fish, prawns, ceviche or petiscos.

About Lemos Figueiredo

Lemos Figueiredo, also known as Adega das Frutas de Alcobaça, makes liqueurs and spirits in Alcobaça, the abbey town of the Oeste, a region of orchards north of Lisbon. Its products are sold at the Ginjinha d'Alcobaça shop, close to the monastery. The citrus for Casanova comes from surplus and misshapen fruit, and the bottle is made of recycled glass.
