Brejinho da Costa
Brejinho da Costa Late Harvest Encruzado White
Pickup currently not available
Brejinho da Costa Late Harvest Encruzado is a Portuguese sweet white wine from the Península de Setúbal, made from Encruzado grapes left on the vine to ripen late. A rare take on Encruzado, a grape better known for dry whites in the Dão, and a lovely bottle to close a dinner.
Tasting notes
Late harvest (colheita tardia) means the grapes are picked weeks after the normal harvest, when sugars are concentrated. Expect ripe lemon and candied citrus, a honeyed texture and a lively acidity that keeps the sweetness clean, with a salty, Atlantic freshness on the finish.
Food pairing
Pour it with pastéis de nata, a queijada de Sintra, blue cheese, a fruit tart or foie gras.
About Brejinho da Costa
Brejinho da Costa is a wine estate in the Península de Setúbal, south of Lisbon, where sandy soils and sea air shape the wines. It makes whites, reds, sparkling wines and bagaceira, alongside this late harvest.
