Bajancas
Bajancas Grande Reserva Red
Pickup currently not available
Bajancas Grande Reserva is a Douro red wine, a blend of the valley’s traditional red grapes such as Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz. Grande Reserva is the top tier on a Portuguese label, kept for the best lots. This is a bottle for a slow dinner with red meat and good company.
Tasting notes
Retail notes describe a deep ruby colour with red fruit and earthy notes and a complex, structured palate. Douro reds of this level usually show dark berries, a touch of rockrose and spice, firm tannins and a long finish.
Food pairing
Open it with roast beef, posta mirandesa, a slow-cooked lamb shoulder, or roasted kid goat with potatoes. Aged cheeses such as Serra da Estrela velho are a good match too.
