Argilla
Argilla Talha White
Pickup currently not available
Argilla Talha White (Talha d'Argilla) is a Portuguese white wine made in talha, the traditional clay amphora of Portuguese winemaking. It is a white with texture and a quiet, earthy depth, for anyone who likes wines with a sense of history.
Tasting notes
Clay lets the wine breathe without adding the flavour of oak. Talha whites usually show ripe citrus and orchard fruit, dried herbs, a gentle grip when the skins are involved, and a savoury, almost salty finish.
Food pairing
Try it with migas, pork and clams, grilled sardines, roast vegetables or a cured sheep's cheese from the Alentejo.
About Argilla
Argilla takes its name from clay, the material of the talha, the large earthenware pot Portuguese winemakers have used since Roman times. Talha wine is fermented in these pots, often with the skins, a method kept alive for centuries in the Alentejo.
