Apart3 Ambar Orange Wine

Apart3 Ambar is a Portuguese orange wine, a white wine made with skin contact by the small Portuguese label Apart3. Ambar means amber, the colour that white grapes take on when they ferment with their skins, and this is a bottle for curious drinkers who like texture and character in the glass.

Tasting notes

Orange wines are usually dry and savoury, with a light grip of tannin and flavours of dried citrus peel, apricot, herbs and black tea. They sit somewhere between a white and a light red, which makes them very flexible at the table.

Food pairing

Try it with roast chicken, grilled pork, bacalhau à Brás, mushroom dishes, spiced curries or a board of cured cheeses. It is also great with mezze and hummus.

About Apart3

Apart3 is a small Portuguese wine label with a short, playful range of cuvées: Ambar, Monda and Oxydo. We chose its bottles because they show a side of Portuguese wine you rarely find in supermarkets.
