António Madeira
António Madeira Ainda Palhete
António Madeira Ainda is a Portuguese palhete from the Dão, a light red made by fermenting red and white grapes together from old vines planted with around 40 varieties. Palhete is an old Portuguese style that sits between rosé and red, and this one is a joy to drink slightly chilled with friends.
Tasting notes
Expect cranberry and flowers on the nose, with a stony, mineral touch. The palate is dry and medium bodied, with very soft tannins, bright acidity and a light, airy finish.
Food pairing
Serve it with petiscos, grilled sardines, roast chicken piri piri, a tomato rice or a board of cured meats and young cheese.
About António Madeira
António Madeira, French of Portuguese descent, has made wine in the Dão since 2011, from old vineyards in the foothills of the Serra da Estrela. Ainda comes from vines 60 to 100 years old farmed by small growers, fermented with native yeasts and bottled unfined and unfiltered after about ten months in tank.
