After so long in wood, old tawnies turn amber to mahogany, with aromas of dried fruit, walnuts, toffee, spice and old wood, a concentrated, silky palate and a very long finish. Expect intensity rather than fruit.

Food pairing

Pour a small glass with a hard aged cheese such as Serra da Estrela velho or São Jorge, with toasted almonds and walnuts, a crème brûlée, pastéis de nata or dark chocolate. It is also a fine digestif on its own.

About Casa de Santa Bárbara

Casa de Santa Bárbara is a Port label from the Douro.
